Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Sales Applications Engineer to assess new customer enquiries, coordinate with the wider business to qualify customers' technical requirements, assist with customer quotations, and maintain product information.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out the initial commercial qualification on all new customer enquiries with support and guidance from the wider business
  • Ensuring relevant NDA’s are in place with potential customers to assess any IP risks
  • Understand the customers requirements and be able to relay this to the wider business development team including the commercial approval process and likely program timing
  • Carrying out technical qualification with support from the wider business to assess the customers mechanical/electrical/cooling system competence and the technical risks within the application
  • Providing information to customers on the mechanical, electrical and cooling system integrations
  • Working with the relevant stakeholders to prepare customer quotations
  • Coordinating and tracking activities between the Engineering and Commercial team
  • Ensure all published information including technical documentation and FAQs are maintained, accurate and up-to-date
  • Bring customer and application insights to the specification of future Evolito standard products, motor and motor controllers (product strategy).

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree level qualification a relevant engineering discipline
  • Working knowledge of Python, MATLAB and Visual Basic programming would be desired
  • Proficiency in MS Office and corporate systems such as SAS
  • Previous proven experience interfacing with customers and taking accountability for providing technical responses
  • Strong technical knowledge and commercial insight with the ability to prioritise the highest value lowest risk opportunities
  • Excellent, precise verbal and written communication skills, practised in discussion and presentations should be proven
  • Ability to act as the face of Evolito when dealing with our customers
  • A problem-solver mindset with deep sense of accountability for the customer
  • Strong listening and clear articulation in taking the customer through the journey to achieve the optimal technical and commercial solution
  • An independent thinker
  • Candidates must have a UK driving license and ability to travel (incl. international).
  • A 'self-starter' with ‘can do’ attitude who exudes energy, self-confidence,
  • Ability to thrive within a fast-moving, high-growth business environment
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing conflicting demands against tight deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 aerospace or automotive supplier environment.
  • Experience of electric motors, motor controllers and electric propulsion.
