Role Summary

Job Description

As Manager Sales Industrial Marine you will be responsible for the key accounts in the Marine market, including OE customers and specialized distributors. You will also lead the Sales Manager for the Industrial UK market. This role involves developing and executing the European Marine market strategy in collaboration with the Category Manager, and leading Marine Key Account Managers across Europe. The primary focus is on building and expanding customer relationships to drive business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction with the support of the team. In this role you respond to the Director Sales OE Industrial Europe.

Main Tasks

  • Develop and expand the business across Europe in line with group plans and targets. Contribute to annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly sales projections.
  • Drive sales growth by strengthening relationships with existing marine distributors and specialized dealers while identifying and establishing new partnerships to further expand the business.
  • Ensure effective communication across all involved sites regarding strategic business activities and projects, including knowledge transfer, which may require on-site presence.
  • Collaborate with customers across various product levels, including standard products with configurations, adaptations, and new customer-specific developments and projects.
  • Lead the business acquisition process by proactively pursuing business opportunities, even before receiving RFQs, through the quotation and decision phase, up to product launch, and monitoring customer development post-launch.
  • Define customer and market segment specifications, assessing feasibility in technical, commercial, legal, and timing dimensions, while engaging relevant internal functions.
  • Prepare and negotiate quotations, from standard parts to new developments, in collaboration with Sales Managers at European MANN+HUMMEL locations.
  • Negotiate customer-specific contracts, such as Long Term Agreements and Warranty Agreements, in coordination with MANN+HUMMEL locations and in alignment with the legal department.
  • Manage customer performance ratings concerning delivery, quality, and cost across all involved sites.
  • Coordinate and review regular reporting of activities and results, including pipeline management, net sales and gross margin development, overdues, quality, and delivery metrics.
  • Oversee Profit & Loss responsibility for the assigned customer portfolio.

Your Profile

  • Education: University degree or equivalent education in the field of Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant business experience in the relevant industry, preferably Marine
  • Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of products, customers, and markets
    • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and coordinate a virtual, multicultural sales team
    • Expertise in quality systems and standards, including IATF 16949
  • Language skills: Fluent in English written and spoken
  • Personality:
    • Proven strategic and business acumen
    • Exceptional customer-centric approach with strong expertise in relationship management
    • Highly self-motivated and driven
    • Strong commercial, methodological, and analytical abilities
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills
    • Willingness to travel frequently, both within and outside the UK
