Description

SAP Release Manager – S/4HANA Transformation

Location: UK (London, Slough) | US

As part of Mars’ ongoing transformation, we’re launching an enterprise-wide S/4HANA program across Petcare, Snacking, Food, and Corporate segments. This is more than a system upgrade—it’s a business-led digital transformation, focused on simplifying and harmonizing processes across eight core areas including Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, Sales, HR, R&D, and Marketing.

To support this, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative SAP Release Manager to oversee release planning, coordination, and governance across multiple S/4HANA landscapes. This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth, synchronized delivery of changes from development through to production.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Champion and apply Mars’ Five Principles across all interactions.
  • Own and maintain the SAP release calendar, aligned with program milestones.
  • Develop and implement inclusive, effective release governance processes.
  • Coordinate transport activity across multiple teams, environments, and S/4HANA instances.
  • Collaborate with Mars teams, system integrators, and technical leads to ensure proper sequencing, quality, and compliance.
  • Lead release readiness and cutover planning.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, providing updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure all release activities follow change management and audit protocols.
  • Continuously improve release processes and tools for better efficiency and visibility.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years of SAP release or deployment management experience in large-scale programs.
  • Deep understanding of SAP transport and change control in complex, multi-system environments.
  • Familiarity with tools like SAP CALM, ActiveControl, and other release automation solutions.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and risk management skills.
  • Inclusive leadership mindset and a passion for working across diverse teams.
  • Experience working with system integrators, business teams, and external partners.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, with a proactive and structured approach.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Work with over 140,000 diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
  • An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
