We are currently seeking to appoint an experience Science Technician to join our Science Department for 37 hours per week during term time only (39 weeks per year). The overall purpose of this post is to provide a full range of skills and knowledge to provide specialist curriculum area technical learning support at all levels to enrich, enhance, underpin and deliver the learning experience under the guidance of senior staff within the faculty. The post holder will be part of a team providing specialist resource support across the Science faculty as effectively as possible to support curriculum delivery, ensuring that communications and reports are made in a timely manner that meet the needs and expectations of all stakeholders including compliance with relevant OAT Head Office policies and processes.
The role involves the preparation of practical scientific activities, maintenance of scientific apparatus and contributing to the upkeep and organisation of resources. As well as having an interest in science, the successful candidate will be a well-organised team player with the ability to prioritise their workload and a can-do approach. Previous experience in a laboratory and/or educational context is desirable and the successful candidate should have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 above or equivalent including English and maths.
