Security Coordination & Support Officer

Our Opportunity
Support the Site Security Manager (SSM) in the delivery of the Forward Action Plan, Strategies and future security Plans, ensuring all reviews and work streams are completed to agreed timescales and to an adequate standard.
Coordinate daily security requests from all business lines and deliver core functions of the Corporate Security Office.
Support the SSM in the delivery of Security Improvement and Transformation, ensuring cross site support activities and centralisation of services.
Support the SSM in the development of staff to build resilience, upskill and aide their personal/professional development.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
The Site Security Officer is required to work within the Crawley Security Department, helping to ensure that: -
- All classified material that requires registration is received, issued, stored, dispatched, archived and destroyed is processed in accordance with current security instructions.
- All classified material that requires registration and which is held within the Security Department and by custodians on site is regularly mustered.
- The muster and management of legacy classified documents on the Crawley site.
- All crypto account items which are received, created, stored, dispatched and destroyed are processed in accordance with current Crypto instructions.
- All crypto material which is held by the Site Crypto Custodian and by crypto users on site is regularly mustered in accordance with current Crypto instructions.
- Liaison is maintained with the Thales Vetting Office in Crawley for the timely and appropriate approval screening and security vetting requirements of on-site personnel.
- The preparation and submission of International Visit Control Office (IVCO) Request for Visit forms and Personal Index Cards is properly managed for employees making visits to overseas government or contractor establishments.
- Records relating to IVCO correspondence on incoming visits by non-UK nationals are correctly maintained.
- All routine security office activities, which help ensure continuing compliance with HMG, MoD and Thales UK policies and on-site procedures, are carried out in an efficient manner.
- Queries from on-site personnel on day-to-day security issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
The Site Security Administrator will support the Site Security Controller and Deputy.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
