SEN Teaching Assistant - Join Our Supportive Team!
We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team, working with children and young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEN.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support and assist in small group settings, helping students reach their full potential
- Deliver tailored interventions and support strategies, working closely with teachers and SENCOs
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and confidence
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies
- Support students' academic and social development, building essential life skills
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs, facilitating understanding and progress
- Provide pastoral care and emotional support, ensuring students feel safe and valued
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant professionals
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN in a school or similar setting
- Relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (desirable but not essential)
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with diverse needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and student wellbeing
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and willingness to undergo relevant training
