Join NICE as a Senior Analyst to evaluate Artificial Intelligence for transforming the work of NICE!
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) exists to help improve the quality, sustainability and productivity of health and social care in England and Wales. We have an international reputation for producing high quality guidance and information on effective practice that supports better decisions and helps the health and care system to prioritise its investments. We are world leaders in the work that we do.
Do you have a passion for innovation and transformation? NICE is seeking a Senior Analyst to drive forward our organisational evolution by harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) for the core functions of NICE. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping NICE’s future, ensuring we maximise AI’s capabilities to enhance our ways of working, improve efficiencies, and support evidence-based decision-making.
In this role, you will support strategic initiatives that integrate AI into NICE’s processes, working collaboratively across teams to identify and capitalise on opportunities for transformation. The ideal candidate will have a strong grounding in research methods as well as the ability to support evaluations or pilots of artificial intelligence tools. If you thrive in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment and are ready to shape the future of NICE, we would love to hear from you.
The Senior Analysts within our team are responsible for a range of activities, including:
- Conducting research, or evaluations, analysing data and disseminating findings in collaboration with partners in the UK or internationally
- Delivering science policy and research outputs and ensuring the high technical quality of these outputs
- Developing applications for research funding in collaboration with partners in the UK or internationally
- Proactively working with teams across NICE to develop and deliver projects that address NICE's strategic research or business priorities
- Developing and maintaining working relationships with external collaborators including research partners, international HTA agencies, regulators and the wider research community
- Managing Data and Analytics research methods activity.
The team adopts a flexible approach, meaning that the post holder will work on multiple projects and activities at any one time and that specific tasks assigned to the post-holder may change in response to business needs.
The Science Evidence and Analytics (SEA) Directorate ensures NICE uses the best available evidence to support decision making across health and care. The Data and Analytics (D&A) Programme, part of SEA, supports the whole organisation by leading on real-world data and evidence. We work with system partners to ensure NICE accesses a wide range of health and care data, enabling a system that continually learns from implementation.
Recently, the D&A team led the development of NICE’s Statement of Intent for artificial intelligence (AI), outlining our approach to: 1) guiding technology developers on best practice for AI-based evidence generation; 2) evaluating AI technologies for NHS use; and 3) exploring AI tools within NICE processes. This work ensures NICE remains at the forefront of data and technology innovation, both in the UK and globally. The team also conducts research and works with external policy partners to influence key issues, enhancing NICE’s role as a methodological leader.
