Senior Bridge Engineer

We are based in the Generator Building within the Finzels Reach area of central Bristol – situated in a harbourside setting with just a 5min walk to Cabot Circus and a 10min walk to the train station. The Generator Building is grade II listed structure modernly restored to celebrate its heritage features and history, providing an appropriate fit to our business capability and culture.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our business at an exciting phase of growth where our people are valued and trusted to support our development.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and line manage junior team members and plan their development
• Lead the delivery of bridge engineering schemes as technical lead
• Contribute to work winning through tenders and exceptional project delivery
• Support team capability development

Requirements

Miniumum:

• Masters Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering at least 2i
• 4 years plus post graduate experience in bridges discipline
• On route to become Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE or equivalent
• Experienced in the examination, assessment, repair & design of bridge assets
• Strong working knowledge of Eurocode, British & DMRB standards
• Strong technical skills with an ability to mentor junior staff

Prefered:

• Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE or equivalent
• 5 years plus post graduate experience in bridges discipline
• Strong experience in non-linear finite element analysis
• Experienced in the detailed design of reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete and steel superstructure and substructure/foundation design
• Experience in temporary works design
