Brief Description

The post holder is responsible for analysing and developing the Digital Railway Programme’s business processes to improve control and flow of information to support the requirements of the Programme

About The Role (External)

  • Act as the delegated design authority and work across stakeholder groups, to develop and deploy end to end corporate processes that support effective flow and control of information across the Digital Railway Programme.
  • Develop unambiguous, complete and consistent programme-wide requirements specifications to support implementation and transition to new ways of working.
  • Engage with stakeholders and relevant subject matter experts to identify, collate and understand the detailed business requirements behind an identified programme problem or opportunity.
  • Analyse and document current processes, workflows and information exchanges to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness of service.
  • Analyse and interpret the impact new requirements will have on the programme and design and document the new business processes needed.
  • Contribute to the development of plans and reporting processes, assess and escalate risks and issues as appropriate.
  • Provide impact analysis of changes proposed with respect to the service, to consider the wider, end to end process impact.
  • Promote the use of best practice tools and processes across the Digital Railway Programme.


Essential

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven ability to review and edit requirements, specifications, processes and recommend solutions, stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering business processes at an enterprise level
  • An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Ability to work remotely and autonomously.
  • Ability to tailor presentation styles to suit audience levels.
  • Proficient use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable to challenge seniority and existing processes.


Desirable

  • Formal qualifications in Agile, ISEB and/or Project Management would be of interest
  • Detailed understanding of the railway industry, its key business processes and interfaces
