We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive
Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team in Wrexham. As Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other consumables necessary for the production of high-quality pharmaceutical products. This position is integral to maintaining the integrity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of our supply chain operations while adhering to stringent regulatory standards and quality requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with the company's overall business objectives and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Contribute to the development and execution of strategic sourcing plans for raw materials, packaging, APIs, and other consumables.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manage supplier change notifications, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Planning, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Global Category Leads to align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Cost Optimisation: Perform cost analysis and implement strategies to optimise procurement costs without compromising quality.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity and reliability.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Considerable experience in a buying role from a highly regulated industry
- Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Accountable attitude, takes ownership and is solution-focused
- Natural communicator and relationship builder
