Senior Category Manager - Professional Services

Salary band to c£71k - £78k (including location allowances) + excellent pension and wider benefits.

London based client with extensive regional offices, offering hybrid working (1 day a week in London and 2 regionally) with compressed hours opportunities.

My client, a high profile public sector organisation that is delivering a vital service to the country, are currently recruiting for a Senior Category Manager / Commercial Lead level role, in the Professional Services / corporate category spend area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the hands-on delivery of innovative category strategies and contract management across spend areas such as recruitment contingent labour, management consultancy, training and marketing / advertising.

With this role bringing line management responsibility, my client is looking for candidates who will bring a coaching / mentoring leadership approach, in what is a L&D focussed environment.

The successful candidate will ideally bring a blend of the following: -

• Clear commercial / procurement experience ideally in the professional services / corporate category spend areas at a senior category manager level.
• Background of developing innovative category strategies and/or contract management / supplier relationship management (SRM) protocols that deliver high quality commercial outcomes, value for money and mitigate risk
• Experience in delivering high value complex strategic commercial services negotiations in fast paced and dynamic environment
• Inclusive Leadership / Management experience, ideally gained from working within a CPD / L&D culture.
• Excellent senior stakeholder relationship skills.
• Public Sector / OJEU / PCR2015 procurement experience is a desirable but not essential
