About the Team and Role

Our Claims team is at the front of the Inigo business, partnering with Underwriters to find solutions for our Clients. We have the highest quality and most experienced claims professionals ready to respond immediately when Clients need us most, helping them recover from disasters, resolving the most complex issues, as well as helping them learn from losses. At Inigo Claims we foster collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders, providing the highest quality customer service and continuous improvement.

This position is for a Senior Claims Operations Analyst. This role is critical in supporting the technical claims team with all the operational needs of the claims department and intrinsic to the successful delivery of the annual Claims Business Plan. Having a Claims Operations function embedded within the Claims team is a huge asset to Inigo and continues to bring real value to the organisation. As the Syndicate continues to grow, it’s essential that our systems and processes improve in parallel, and that these are underpinned by accurate claims data. The primary focus of the role is to maintain the highest level of reporting and data quality from within the Claims team, whilst being a critical point of liaison with multiple stakeholders from across the business and external regulators/vendors.

The successful candidate will do this by:

  • Working closely with the Claims Leadership Team to deliver a claims strategy that aligns with Inigo’s key strategies and utilising data trends, identifying supporting initiatives for the Claims team to execute on.
  • Taking responsibility for maintaining an ultimate level of claims data quality and integrity, unrivalled in the London Market.
  • Collaborating with the team to rectify data issues as and when they are identified.
  • Managing and training the claims team to adopt and comply with change to practice, process, guidelines, and controls.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the Bordereaux Management Solution has minimal impact on our reporting and take ownership of the integrations into our data layer.
  • Being a VIPR MI superuser and conduit between claims & Marco Polo (DA support).
  • Being the central custodian of our Catastrophe volumes, values and associated coding to inform internal and external stakeholders of our trending exposures.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards for tracking of actual vs expected loss, utilising loss ratios used by each product.
  • Working with various key stakeholders in the business, namely Line Underwriters, Pricing, Actuarial Exposure Management, Capital and Finance to maintain a single version of the truth.
  • Taking responsibility for the Claims’ “First Line of Defence” and ensuring the claims teams are operating within appropriate regulatory framework boundaries; adhere to all Inigo’s policies, audits, controls and risk procedures.
  • Enhancing our internal workflow management information.
  • Managing a central log of all our Event and Catastrophe codes, ensuring these are accurately input by the Claims Team and our support function.
  • Improving our claims reporting and MI suite so that we deliver the right level of information to all areas of the Inigo business and the regulators
  • Taking responsibility for performing Lloyd’s regulatory data reconciliations (such as OBM, QMA & Solvency II) along with regular CAT submissions.
  • Conducting regular (weekly) reviews of the claims data to identify potential anomalies and data quality issues.

To do this, we’re going to need you to bring:

  • Experience and knowledge of the demands of a focused role in a claims function, operating in a highly regulated environment, with a solid understanding of finance and claims terminology/associated data points, fields and processes.
  • A strong focus on numeracy, data and management information and the ability to provide insights to help the business make better decisions.
  • Inigo is a data driven organisation and we expect the candidate to have attention to detail required to align to Inigo’s wider data strategy.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, deliver within constrained timelines to support various processes across the business.
  • An understanding of how outsourced functions operate to support a claims function, including due diligence/governance and day to day management of SLAs - from TPAs to admin support.
  • Expertise in building or transforming strong performing claims organisations and focused on identification of opportunities to continuously improve process and efficiency
  • High level of communication skills, both internal and external.
  • A solutions-orientated mindset who can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A solid belief in a team culture and enjoy building trusting relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Agility and flexibility to your approach and a passion for change.
  • A self-starter, who is comfortable to promote great ideas, curious nature and be willing to challenge the status quo as innovation and disruption are at the very fabric of our being
  • Understanding of SQL coding is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of building and navigating Power BI reports is preferred but not essential.
