Description

Role Summary:

Due to the continuous growth of our business, Transmission Investment is looking to recruit a full time Senior Commercial Manager to join the team responsible for driving Transmission Investment’s origination efforts across multiple electricity infrastructure sectors including competitively procured brownfield offshore wind transmission assets (known as “OFTOs”, competitively procured onshore transmission projects under a new regime (known as “CATOs”), and securing revenue contracts for grid stability assets (such as synchronous compensators) which underpin the investment case of those assets.

The Senior Commercial Manager will be accountable for the legal and commercial workstream on both complex structured procurement processes (such as CATOs) and self-developed assets (such as grid stability assets) where appropriate transaction and project contractual structures will be put in place to drive efficient risk allocation and competitiveness. This strategic role involves working closely with internal stakeholders, external legal advisors, and consortium partners to ensure the successful development, negotiation, and close of complex infrastructure transactions.

This role may also support the broader origination function of Transmission Investment and support development, delivery and operations activities relating to our assets.

The role will be based in our head office in the City of London or in Glasgow, with only occasional travel within the UK necessary. Transmission Investment also has a flexible working policy.

The role will report to the Origination Director who is primarily responsible for origination and investment activities for the business.

About Transmission Investment:

Founded in 2011, Transmission Investment manages one of the largest offshore electricity transmission portfolios globally, connecting over 4,000MW of offshore wind from eleven GB wind farms and a grid stability synchronous compensator at Blackhillock, Scotland. It is also developing the 700MW interconnector (LirIC) between Northern Ireland and Scotland, a 1250MW interconnector to France and preparing to participate in the tender processes for onshore transmission projects as the company continues to build a significant portfolio of power assets. In 2025, Transmission Investment was acquired by TAQA, one of the largest listed integrated utility companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (ADX: TAQA), as part of its international growth strategy while contributing to the UK’s 2050 Net Zero programme and TAQA’s wider sustainability ambitions.
