This role sits within the conference department who work across 50+ global events a year. AMI events connect and inspire leaders across the global plastics industry.

Role overview
To research and write agendas for a selection of AMI’s in-person and virtual conferences for the international plastics
industry, ensuring high-quality content and recruiting key industry speakers. Creating profitable events that exceed the expectations of delegates, sponsors and exhibitors.
Who are you?
- You’re either already an experienced conference producer looking for a new challenge. Or you would like to become a conference producer and you can demonstrate transferable skills.
(*Please note that no conference production experience is not a deal breaker and we welcome applications with transferable skills such as PR, journalism, content management, recruitment, sales, academia, marketing and events management.)
- An analytical thinker with an inquiring mind who loves to learn about and research new topics and is curious about how things work.
- Confident in building and developing relationships
- A proactive and supportive team player, always looking for new ways to upskill yourself and uplift those around you. The team culture in the AMI production team is a supportive one and we meet weekly to explore ways to help each other, solve problems, celebrate successes and catch up socially.
- A self-aware individual, open to self-reflection and gathering feedback from others
- Someone who likes to travel, the role involves regular travel to our events which are across Asia, the USA and Europe
Key responsibilities day to day:
- Research markets through telephone interviews and desk research
- Produce high-level conference agendas, invite and secure speakers and review paper submissions
- Build a network of key industry professionals and seek their advice on current industry trends
- Establish an effective working relationship with your cross-functional event project team to ensure timelines and budgets are met
- Write effective marketing copy for campaigns across web, email, social media, and online magazines etc.
- Work closely with any consultants in your field; and with the data team to build targeted mailing lists
- International and national travel to deliver your event agendas on site, as well as occasionally to competitor events.
Additional responsibilities for senior producers:
- Opportunity to chair or moderate in-person events.
- Topic generation and new product development - identify opportunities for new conferences and event models within and beyond the plastics sector
- Assist in mentoring/coaching of new producers.
In return, we’ll give you:
- A salary of £26,000 to £50,000 basic (the salary offer is dependent on previous conference production experience)
- 25 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays
