Senior Controls Engineer to join the Electrical Controls & Software department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About The Role
The purpose of the role is to provide Controls design, embedded software and tools capabilities to the Control Systems and basic software Team.
What You Will Do
- Design and implement control strategies to satisfy system requirements.
- Create and maintain application software architecture using the AUTOSAR framework.
- Derive and implement software requirements from system requirements using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Develop test cases, execute MIL/SIL testing, and support HIL rig and system testing to ensure design compliance.
- Support IEC 61508/ISO 26262 processes with traceability from requirements to implementation and ensure tools meet industry standards.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance control system tools, scripts (MATLAB, Python, etc..), and MATLAB apps to streamline processes.
- Work closely with team members and stakeholders, adapt to project changes, and contribute to patentable intellectual property.
- Maintain documentation for tools and APIs, provide technical support, and stay updated with industry advancements.
About You
- Engineering degree (or equivalent) with significant experience in automotive ECU software development.
- Skilled in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and AUTOSAR guidelines.
- Experience with IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 safety processes.
- Designing high-voltage components, BMS, HV controllers, charging systems, DC-DC converters, or thermal management.
- Strong grasp of modelling techniques and model-based development.
- Proficient in embedded C and Git version control.
- Familiar with ISO 14229 diagnostics and fault monitoring.
- Experienced in developing control system tools, APIs, MATLAB apps, and SharePoint solutions.
- Skilled in MATLAB, Python, VBA, Perl, and AUTOSAR/ASPICE tools; MATLAB scripting is a plus.
- Experienced in large-scale projects, team mentoring, and strong communication skills.
- Experience/understanding of test, calibration, and measurement techniques.
- Knowledge/experience with CANape/CANoe/CANalyzer and automotive communication protocols.
- MATLAB scripting to streamline, automate tasks and CI/CD.
- Proficiency in control theory and advanced control methods.
- Understanding of problem-solving methodology and software quality framework.
