The Project
An exciting opportunity to join the cost management team working in the private commercial sector working in a seconded CMO role within one of our global corporate real estate clients. The role will involve supporting the commercial PMO lead across a full range of capital planning, project budgeting, forecasting and strategic procurement services. You’ll Be Responsible For
- Working with a commercial Lead to manage to ensure consistency of cost management and reporting across numerous projects within the programme.
- Providing oversight and governance responsibilities of cost and commercial management including cost planning and benchmarking and the reporting of cost, cashflow, procurement, contract and claims.
- Developing and improving project cost and commercial databases to accurately track and control commercial statuses.
- Tracking and interpreting trends and issues via dashboards and reports in PowerBI or equivalent.
- Tracking and controlling project accruals and commitments against budgets.
- Building project forecasts and benchmarks to inform and measure the portfolio and programme performance.
- Tracking project contingency and exposure associated with risk events and remaining risks on the project.
- Tracking project change control to ensure alignment with agreed baselines and control data structures.
- Tracking key project trends which can inform future change management.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, RICS guidelines.
- Managing team of cost consultants, providing guidance, direction and coaching and performance management.
- Delivering improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change.
- Providing mentoring/training to members of the team.
- Sharing technical/functional/domain expertise to upskill capabilities.
- Developing and maintaining a series of both internal and external relationships.
- Managing and influencing key/senior stakeholders. Identifies and implements continuous improvement plans/identifies key business improvements.
- Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll Need To Have
- Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.
- Advanced experience of working with large cost data sets.
- Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
- Excellent data management skills including Microsoft Excel, use of advance formulas, pivot tables.
- Experience of working within a PMO office (desirable).
- Analytical skills.
- Digitally competent.
- A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
- Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent).
- Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role.
- Capex V Opex cost analysis/advice.
- Comprehensive understanding of present-day issues such as sustainability, social value and carbon reduction.
- Expert knowledge of industry best practice.
