Wood is recruiting for a Senior Cost Controller to join our Operations team. This is a 12 month fixed term contract with hybrid working with 3 days a week in our clients office in Aberdeen and 2 days remote.

The Role

As Senior Cost Controller you will prepare and report project cost budgets, and tracking, management and reporting of project expenditure to enable robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.

You will be responsible for the development of project budgets, the tracking of actual and forecasted costs and the generation of cost reports, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures and standards.

Support in the management of project budgets, actual and forecast costs, and the preparation and filing of project cost documentation.

Identify areas of best practise and driving continuous improvement within the Cost team.

We build long term strategic relationships with clients across each of our 4 sub-service lines: Decommissioning, Operations & Maintenance, Duty Holder and Optimised Energy. We project manage decommissioning scopes and provide skilled people offshore to help our clients get the best out their assets and keep them ahead. Responsibilities

  • Produce and issue monthly VOWD Accruals Report to asset budget holders (for normal operations, TAR specific and year end)
  • Liaise with asset budget holders for updates on VOWD
  • Review PO statuses / invoice schedules
  • Update VOWD Accruals Engine with monthly / quarterly / year end accrual figures
  • Review open POs and perform close out on monthly / quarterly basis
  • Liaise with Business / Cost Analyst as required, for any manual VOWD accruals (out with the VOWD engine)
  • Liaise with vendors regarding invoice submission / payments
  • Support the asset budget holders with PO status / invoice information as required

Expected

  • Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline, or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and / or industry experience
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP and excel
  • Strong knowledge of cost software and related principles, tools and techniques including budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow
  • Excellent knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Cost Management including Change Management
  • Advanced ability to develop project cost budgets and change estimates
  • Advanced ability to prepare cost reports
  • Understanding of change management and associated cost and schedule processes
  • Strong understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses / trending and what-if scenarios
  • Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management
