Senior Design Manager

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business who build a high-quality product in aspirational locations with the principal objective of the role is to deliver robust, efficient, and high-quality design solutions across all developments.

The Senior Design Manager requires a forward-thinking, proactive approach to owning the design process of all future schemes. This is essential to the Planning function and the wider business from land bid stage through to securing planning permission. This role emphasizes a proactive approach to leading the design process, playing a critical part from land bids through to securing planning permission.

You will:

• Be central to shaping and driving the design and planning aspects of future schemes, ensuring the quality of layouts matches the company’s high standards and brand identity.
• Instruct all new layouts, organise, attend, and present at pre-application discussion meetings which is essential to the Planning function in working up and proactively driving planning applications through the planning system.
• Co-ordinate input from the wider team and department heads to ensure the quality of our schemes match the quality of our brand and product offering, managing and balancing input of team.
• Be involved in re-plan and assisting the technical team in re-plans and value engineering individual units, as well as minor amendments applications.

About You

It is essential to the Land and Planning function that you will also provide expert knowledge on planning policy, build regulation impacts on, and offer well considered appraisals on the planning prospects of potential sites.

Line management responsibilities will be required, therefore excellent leadership skills are essential to the role with a self-driven, adaptable approach to managing design processes.
