Job Title: Senior Design Manager
Location: London
Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £90,000 + Package
We are working with a growing main contractor delivering
commercial, fit-out, refurbishment and residential projects across London. As part of their continued growth, my client is looking to bring in a
Senior Design Manager on a permanent basis.
This would suit an experienced Senior Design Manager or a confident Design Manager ready to step up. The team are keen to support the right person with ongoing development and progression. You'll be hands-on, not just managing others - this is a role for someone who wants to be at the heart of delivery and involved in the day-to-day coordination of live jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process across multiple projects (size dependent)
- Manage consultant coordination and technical reviews
- Get involved with pre-construction and design development
- Oversee day-to-day design issues, resolving clashes and providing support to delivery teams
- Liaise with subcontractors, pushing back where necessary and holding accountability
- Support the tender process and design input at bid stage
- Ensure design is delivered in line with programme and project constraints
What We're Looking For
- Design Manager or Senior Design Manager experience, ideally for a main contractor
- Exposure to a range of project types: commercial, residential, fit-out or refurbishment would be desirable
- Comfortable working autonomously and getting stuck into the detail
- Confident communicator with strong coordination skills
- Able to hold your own with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Proactive, self-motivated and delivery-focused
