The job holder will take responsibility for and manage the warehouse function to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Greenford Warehouse, logistics department and shop floor activities, utilising resources to their full potential and liaising with key departments to ensure that deliveries leave in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines, quality expectations and work in compliance with ISO and PS9000 Quality standards and the OHSAS18001 H&S standard. To ensure both raw materials and finished goods receipts into the warehouse are handled in a timely manner.
Key Accountabilities
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Helping to develop a strong team of operatives, working with shift leaders and other departmental members to create a culture that reflects to WestRock Values and Behaviours, to achieve a well-functioning warehouse facility.
- Being responsible for raw materials, despatch and stock control
- Ensure all relevant resources are available for production as required
- Work closely with planning and the production team to ensure all raw materials and required components are delivered to the relevant departments
- Assist the site in achieving the site KPI’s and OTIF
- Arrange deliveries and orders for customers.
- Ensure all finished stock and raw materials are maintained and updated on the system.
- Uphold and improve delivery and quality performance.
- Ensure all daily Forklift Truck checks have been carried out as well as documented.
- Manage the fork-lifting of finished goods between departments.
- Unloading and loading of vehicles with raw materials/finished goods and empty pallets.
- Ensure all outwork is forwarded to the correct location either internally or externally.
- General warehouse duties within the Despatch and Raw Materials departments.
- To understand VWT and works instructions and correctly interpret what is being asked.
- Liaising with the customer services team.
- Liaise closely with internal departments.
- Ensure the general housekeeping of the Logistics department is maintained.
- Taking responsibility for the despatch and stock control teams and manage the warehouse operation whilst being an active hands-on member of the team.
- To manage and lead the warehouse team and organise and delegate work in an effective and efficient manner.
- Administration for the warehouse operation where appropriate.
- Motivate your team to achieve the highest levels of productivity and encourage positive behaviour in line with the company Values & Behaviours.
- To identify skills gaps and train employees on best practice techniques in line with HSE & Quality policies.
- To lead by example with a proactive approach and encourage others in the pursuit of continuous improvement projects and performance excellence.
- To complete all necessary administrative tasks (hard and soft) for the warehouse operation
- The ability to ensure that housekeeping standards are being maintained and ensure a high standard of Health & Safety and Quality across the warehouse.
- To organise and take responsibility for operators on shift to ensure tasks are completed effectively daily.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and adherence to legislative requirements.
- To lead by example and be proactive and encourage others in the pursuit of continuous improvement projects and performance excellence.
- To support the site leadership team in future warehouse projects concerning new investments, expansion plans or movements within the factory floor.

- Previous experience of leading a Team
- Proven working experience in a logistics environment
- Record of successful distribution and logistics management
