Role: Senior Development Engineer – Shrewsbury (Hybrid)


Contract Length: 12 months

Location: Shrewsbury


Overview: We are seeking a Senior Development Engineer to support military powertrain verification and validation. This role involves working on new product introduction (NPI) and current products, offering a unique opportunity in defense engineering.

Why This Role? This position ensures high-quality performance of military powertrain products through component validation, post-design reporting, and inline 6 product development.


Team Structure:

  • Work within a 12-person team, part of a 26-person Engineering unit.
  • Collaborate with procurement, suppliers, and customers.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 6+ years in engine, transmission, or driveline engineering.
  • Engineering degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and product validation/testing skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving, especially with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to present findings to stakeholders and contribute to team development.

  3. Analytical mindset, capable of efficiently interpreting and reducing data.


Preferred Industry Experience:

  • Defense, automotive, aerospace, heavy engineering.
  • Alternative sectors: Large-scale manufacturing with powertrain focus, robotics, advanced mechanics.


Systems Required:

  • Microsoft Office (Excel-heavy role).
  • Familiarity with engineering data analysis tools is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid policy: Minimum 3 days/week in-office.
  • Hours: Mon-Thurs, 08:00-16:45 | Fri, 08:00-12:30.
