We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Senior Electrical Design Engineer , to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.
- Reviews and agrees high level electrical requirements including their testability.
- Analyses and translates high level requirements into a validated design for the electrical system/component.
- Captures applicable design constraints (must meet conditions) and quality attributes (may be traded) that apply to the system/component.
- Captures requirements/constraints in line with the project’s processes for management of interfaces and requirements (e.g., requirements captured in IBM DOORS).
- Designs and implements electrical designs to meet design inputs.
- Works with the Verification team to define verification activities.
- Analyses electrical designs for functional behaviour, which may include modelling and simulation to demonstrate that the design meets the high-level requirements. Develops and reviews electrical tests that will provide evidence to demonstrate that the electrical requirements have been satisfied.
- Participates in and supports capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for the team, in conjunction with managers.
- Identifies and mitigates risks.
- Develops, implements, documents, and maintains policies, procedures, associated guidelines, tools, and training as required.
- Develops the knowledge required to provide advice / support to project teams and / or integrated product teams (IPT).
- Represents the electrical engineering area in meetings, working groups and integrated project teams as assigned.
- Works across the power station engineering teams, where required, to deliver standardisation and a commoditised approach to system and component development.
- Ensures that quality is maintained throughout the SMR project lifecycle by undertaking appropriate technical reviews and providing the required electrical engineering inputs to the project technical review gates.
- Discusses the electrical system design with external organisations including the nuclear safety regulator, potential customers, and suppliers.

Pay And Benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between £48,000 - £62,500 DOE plus:-
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.

- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
