Join the Powertrain Team based in Bristol as a Senior Electrical Engineer and help us achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.
What will success look like for you, as a Senior Electrical Engineer?
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for HV distribution system design, power distribution system and the analysis and development of the HV protections. This will be a hands on role, where you will have autonomy to apply creative thinking to develop innovative solutions to complex electrical powertrain design challenges. You'll take ownership of the Propulsion architecture, components and battery HV system integration, design and develop power distribution units and analyse functional, behavioural and performance requirements.
You'll perform detailed studies to lead the design of various HV architectures, as well as drive HV solid state protections analysis and the electronics integration within the battery pack. You'll own the preparation of documents, from design concepts to detailed electronic as well as the electrical system FMEs and system FTAs
You will report directly into the LV/HV IPT Lead and be a key member of the Powertrain team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.
What would we like you to bring?
Role
We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this you will need to have proven experience within:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering.
- System engineering methodology: Requirement capture, functional trees, etc.
- Experience working with HV (>200V) AC or DC.
- Experience designing electrical diagram drawings.
- Experience with Harness development
- Knowledge of clearance and creepage rules.
- Experience sizing cables, fuses and protections.
- Knowledge of solid state protections, fuse coordination, bus-bar design thermal sizing.
- Experience with Electronics PCB mechanical integration.
- Experience with requirement management
