What you can expect Due to continued growth, our UK Engineering office in Newcastle upon Tyne requires a Senior Engineer to join our UK Onshore team.
The role will be to lead and support delivery of technical engineering consultancy projects across the asset life cycle for clients in the UK Gas Transmission and Distribution networks. This may include activities such as design assurance, operational assurance, risk assessment, integrity management and testing. A demonstrable working knowledge of relevant industry standards and procedures is essential.
The role will be based within the ROSEN UK Onshore team but projects may include working with engineers and technicians from other disciplines within the business.
What you will bring
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience working on technical projects involving high pressure pipelines and associated assets. Experience of UK Gas Networks is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a track record in delivering high quality technical reports and presentations
- Degree level or equivalent practical experience in a related engineering discipline
- Demonstrable working knowledge of relevant gas industry codes and standards applicable to high pressure gas transmission (e.g. TD/1, TD/2, TD/13, GL/5, PD 8010)
- Experience with relevant UK legislation (e.g. PSR, PSSR, COMAH, DSEAR)
- Proven ability to identify engineering problems and develop effective solutions.
- Able to work with and interpret engineering line diagrams, pressure system drawings, and piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Experience in using relevant sources of information to make engineering based judgements to problems
- Able to interpret and present complex technical and data issues
Desirable:
- Experience delivering technical projects working in an engineering consultancy environment
- Experience and understanding of the energy transition and how this affects the gas industry (e.g. hydrogen, CCUS)
- Experience of delivering gas industry innovation projects
- Experience of managing and co-ordinating small project teams
- Professional Engineering Registration
