Position: Senior ERP & Business Systems Specialist
Reports to: Engineering & Performance Director
Role Overview: The Senior ERP & Business Systems will lead Epicor Implementations and integrations across the IPE group of companies. The role will work with user groups, finance, department managers and IT to identify design enhancements and system configuration opportunities to improve the utilization of the current Epicor ERP and business Applications. Responsible for supporting end users on Epicor technical issues and developments, the successful candidate will also be responsible for:
Key Accountabilities:
- Define and execute the overall strategy for ERP system implementation.
- Ensure the ERP system aligns with the company’s business goals and objectives, providing a scalable and efficient platform for growth.
- Configure and customise ERP modules and business applications to meet organisation needs.
- Work with business stakeholders to define system requirements and adapt ERP solutions.
- Oversee data integration between the ERP system and other business applications, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Lead data migration efforts during system upgrades, new implementations, or mergers/acquisitions.
- Identify business process that can be automate or optimised using ERP system to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Continuously evaluate business processes and recommend improvements based on system capabilities.
- Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve ERP-related issues, including system errors, data inconsistencies, and performance problems.
- Act as primary point of contact for critical system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Collaborate with function teams (e.g., finance, HR, operations) to gather and document business requirements
- Translate business needs into system specifications, ensuring that the ERP system can support critical business functions.
- Provide hands- on support to users across the organisation, offering troubleshooting assistance and ensuring optimal use of ERP features.
- Develop training programs and materials for end-users, including new employees and those transitioning to upgraded systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to system configuration, customisations, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Design and develop custom report dashboards, and data visualisations to support decision-making and business analytics.
- Manage the Change request process and ensure compliance with SOX Data migration and management.
- Manage the business systems team.
- Working with IT to provide support to ERP platforms and users.
- Lead Power BI integration with Epicor.
Associated Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate change management processes during ERP system implementations, upgrades, or process changes.
- Technical presentation to project associated Steering Committees.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring that service level agreements are met, and that any issues are resolved promptly.
- Manage the ERP system budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and within the correct budget.
- Evaluate the system costs and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining system quality and performance.
- Hypercare and Post go-live support.
- Ensure standardisation of processes across the platform.
- Provide Cloud infrastructure knowledge.
- Facilitating debrief meetings, compiling project summary and presenting updates to senior management, when required, on Epicor development progress.
- Explore and implement the use of AI and/or advanced system data automation to improve accuracy and improve processes.
- Working with CRH Central Business automations team.
Experience and Training:
- Change Request and Testing leadership.
- Extensive experience with data analysis and reporting, using a variety of systems and solutions.
- A Level qualification in a Business or IT Discipline and 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A to C (including Mathematics and English).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field is desirable.
- Experience in Epicor Financial systems and set-up.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ERP system management, business process improvement, and systems integration (preferably Epicor).
- Minimum 1 full life cycle ERP implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of EPICOR BAQ, BPM, SSRS and DMT management.
- Project and Change Management experience / track record.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
