The senior estimator role will ensure that target cost plans are robust, integrated, represent value for money, and are supported by consistent internal and external benchmarking date.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Producing detailed estimates in a timely and efficient manner, based on bills of quantities/take-off and activity-based costs.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with the client, contractors and suppliers
- Agreeing resourcing levels against programme.
- Assessing the risk levels associated with the project.
- Production of the tender settlement book and presenting to the Directors for sign off.
- Resolving post tender queries
- Updating Mace and Heathrow benchmarking data
- Manage the sending out of enquiries via Aconex
- Management of estimating team on larger projects.
You’ll Need To Have
- Sound knowledge of the typical industry contract forms, in particular NEC, and procurement routes.
- Airport experience would be advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to build excellent relationships with clients, design teams and stakeholders.
- Highly numerate, accurate and focused on detail.
- Cost planning experience.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam or similar measurement software packages.
- The role holder should be educated to degree level or equivalent commercial experience.

- MCIOB / RICS qualified or working towards
- Ability to measure and provide simple Bills of Quantities for Enquiries.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Good working knowledge of building methodology.
