About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Finance Architect with expertise in insurance finance systems to lead the design, integration, and optimisation of financial systems with a focus on the specialty (re)insurance market. This role will ensure that financial technology solutions align with enterprise-wide architecture, regulatory requirements, and strategic business objectives.

You will be responsible for defining and communicating the target finance architecture, driving technology transformation, and ensuring seamless integration and data flows between relevant platforms. A key part of the role will be ensuring compliance with relevant regulations while leveraging emerging technologies.

Expertise in finance systems including Peoplesoft, Phinsys, Oracle is essential.


Key Responsibilities

Finance Architecture

  • Define and implement the finance technology architecture to support the function's transformation.
  • Develop and maintain finance enterprise architecture roadmaps, ensuring scalability, resilience, and alignment with business strategy.
  • Ensure seamless integration of financial systems with underlying platforms.
  • Drive standardisation and governance in financial data architecture, ensuring consistency across the organisation.

Technology Integration & Transformation

  • Architect financial reporting solutions to meet Solvency II, IFRS 17, and Lloyd's regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage cloud platforms and automation tools to streamline financial processes, including premium accounting, bordereaux management, and reconciliations.
  • Partner with finance, actuarial and underwriting teams to enhance financial analytics and forecasting capabilities.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure finance systems comply with UK and Lloyd's market financial regulations, including Solvency II, IFRS 17, UK GAAP, and FCA requirements.
  • Design risk and controls frameworks within financial system architecture to support compliance and audit requirements.

Skills & Competencies

  • Relevant experience in enterprise architecture within financial services, ideally in the specialty insurance market.
  • Expertise in finance systems including Peoplesoft, Phinsys, Oracle
  • Experience with Lloyd's of London, Solvency II, IFRS 17, and insurance financial reporting standards.
  • A good understanding of policy admin, claims, risk and actuarial systems from an architecture perspective.
  • Experience in data management including architecture, governance and quality
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
