We’re looking for a passionate
Senior Finance Business Partner for the Offshore Projects to join our Offshore Finance Business Partner team to work hand in hand with Directors of National Grid’s Strategic Infrastructure business who are responsible for delivering the biggest upgrade to electricity infrastructure that the National Grid has seen in decades. These projects will together enable 50 Gigawatts of offshore wind to deliver substantial decarbonisation of our energy system. This is a new business unit which presents an exciting opportunity to build innovative solutions and create new ways of working.
This role is be based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
- You’ll be the first point of contact for Finance to Project Director’s within SI, supporting them in their decision making.
- You will get involved in ad-hoc projects to help build the financial and operational infrastructure required to deliver a transformative infrastructure program at a national scale.
- Build repeatable capability and processes to create successful funding requests to the regulator (Ofgem) for large infrastructure investments.
- Work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner for Offshore and business leaders to provide the insight to drive conversations that matter across SI-wide risks and opportunities.
- Ensure that budgets and forecasts are underpinned by robust business-owned assumptions.
- Provide high quality commentary and analysis for monthly performance reporting, to enable the Offshore Management team to understand and explain their financial performance.
What You'll Have
- A Qualified Accountant with post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc).
- You have prior experience in working with businesses to support financial performance and can demonstrate what you did to make a difference in those roles.
- You have great judgement and are comfortable making decisions even when all the information may not be available.
- You are able to prioritise where to focus time and effort on areas that will make the most difference to financial performance, you’re comfortable working through ambiguity.
- You can distill lots of information into impactful messages, that support the business in having the right conversations about their performance.
- You build great working relationships and can work effectively with other Finance Business Partners, as equally well as with Financial Planning & Analysis and Financial Controllership teams.
- You’re ambitious and looking to make a difference in a business that is at the heart of the UK’s transition to Net Zero.

This is a hybrid working role from our Warwick office with circa 2 days in the office. There will be some business travel required for this role of 1-2 days per month within the UK.
