About the Role

This is a Hybrid role working from either our Dundee or Glasgow office 2 days a week.

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Front-End Developer with deep expertise in React.js to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role requires not only exceptional technical prowess in building scalable, high-performance user interfaces but also strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for mentoring. You will lead significant front-end projects, define technical direction, and collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. An interest in and experience with AI development would be a significant advantage, as we continuously explore integrating cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex, scalable React.js applications, setting technical direction and ensuring code quality.
• Solve intricate front-end challenges, identifying and implementing innovative solutions that enhance user experience and system efficiency.
• Champion Agile methodologies, leading ceremonies and driving best practices within development teams.
• Manage project software aspects, ensuring development efforts align with overall project objectives and client needs.
• Define and lead version control strategies, ensuring best practices and resolving complexities across projects.
• Extract and clarify complex client requirements, translating them into technical solutions and building strong client relationships.
• Proactively acquire new skills and stay at the forefront of front-end industry trends, guiding teams on technology adoption.
• Actively mentor and coach mid-level and junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
• Drive innovation by introducing new methodologies and tools, leading change management initiatives.
• Foster a highly collaborative team environment, ensuring smooth communication and integration among team members.

Experience

• Professional experience in front-end web development, with a strong focus on building complex applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in React.js (Hooks, Context API, Redux/Zustand or similar state management, performance optimization).
• Strong command of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Experience with CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS, or preprocessors like SASS/LESS.
• Experience with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and package managers (npm, yarn).
• Proficiency in consuming and integrating with RESTful APIs and potentially GraphQL.
• Solid understanding of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
• Expertise in Git and advanced version control strategies.
• Proven experience in a digital consultancy or agency environment, with strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrable experience leading technical projects and mentoring development teams.
• Deep understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

• Experience in AI, Machine Learning, or integrating AI models into front-end applications.
• Familiarity with Python or other languages used in AI development.
