Senior Fund Accountant – Real Estate | Permanent | London (Hybrid)
A leading real estate investment firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its London Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain visibility across real estate funds and work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including fund managers, asset managers, tax, administrators, and investors.
Based in central London with a flexible hybrid setup (3 days in office), this role offers a mix of hands-on technical work, financial oversight, and strategic input into investment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of accounting for UK and international real estate investment structures
- Review management accounts from local administrators and ensure accuracy of GAAP adjustments, NAV calculations, and financial reporting
- Coordinate with external service providers including local accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel
- Manage periodic financial statements, audit processes, and regulatory filings
- Prepare and analyse cash flow forecasts, capital drawdowns, distributions, and liquidity planning
- Work closely with asset managers and investment teams to monitor property-level financial performance and support strategic decision-making
- Lead tax compliance in coordination with advisors, including review of tax computations and updates to financial models
- Organise board meetings and resolutions, and oversee invoice payments with external vendors
- Handle investor queries and ensure timely, high-quality responses to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 3 years of experience, ideally within real estate, fund administration, or audit.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS, with experience preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements
- Proven ability to manage third-party providers and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and comfort working under tight deadlines
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence in managing large data sets and financial models
- Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists
- Proactive, organised, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
