Job Title: Senior HR Advisor – Performance and Culture
Location: Preston, Frimley, Scotstoun, Govan, Portsmouth or Barrow-In-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £55,000 dependent on experience and skills
What You’ll Be Doing
- Handle and lead on all informal Business HR owned case management activities around probationary period, performance, conduct or attendance via coaching and/or informal resolution practices with timely completion of documentation and follow up on agreed outcomes
- Work closely with Business HR and Employee Relations (COE) on any cases which may escalate to formal stages, and ensure timely handover and continuity, where appropriate
- Demonstrate extensive Employee Relations knowledge and provide extensive support to each area of the business
- Build trusted relationships across all delivery areas to support effective and timely resolution of any emerging or on-going people issues ensuring to adopt a fair and consistent approach
- Identify and analyse underlying issues or recurring themes and trends behind any performance, behaviour, culture issues
- Act as a strategic partner with Business HR in providing detailed and driven insights, recommendations and solutions to key stakeholders on future state to prevent re-occurrence of any highlighted issues and trends; supporting a high-performance culture. This may include delivery of training and coaching to people managers
Essential
Your skills and experiences:
- Proven experience of working in large, complex, unionised, project-based organisations
- Extensive and proven experience in supporting and resolving Employee Relations activities such as case management
- Ability to identify trends through root cause analysis to support in driving performance and improving culture
- Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and influence business decisions
Desirable
- Human Resources or related subject degree
- Associate member of the CIPD or working towards or equivalent
- Coaching and/or mediation qualifications

The Shared Services Business HR Team is seeking a people focused Senior HR Advisor to provide comprehensive and generalist HR support to line managers with a key focus on driving performance and productivity, promoting a positive culture and handing all levels of informal people matters effectively. This role will play a key part in being able to identify the root cause of workforce issues, providing effective HR support and advice with a proven ability to monitor data, trends and provide innovative solutions in support of continuous improvement.
