Where will you be working?
As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.
This role is in our
Group Assurance department, Group Assurance is made up of our risk management, business continuity and internal audit professionals. They provide independent insight, advice and assurance.

What will you be doing?
You'll work hand-in-hand with your team to deliver a wide range of financial and operational audits, guiding each one from planning through to completion.
You're making sure every audit is completed to the highest standards, within the required timeframe. Evaluating controls thoughtfully to bring valuable insights, themes, and areas of exposure to light for management.
You'll produce concise, professional reports and work papers that clearly convey your key findings and ideas.
You're ensuring that audit actions are fully followed through, taking responsibility for seeing them completed effectively.
You'll also contribute to projects that enhance processes and systems, and you're supporting assurance work, like fraud investigations, with care and expertise.
You're playing a vital role in shaping the future of the Group Assurance function. Whether you're offering input into our strategy or staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments in the Internal Audit profession.
What You’ll Bring
- A recognised internal audit or accountancy qualification
- Knowledge of auditing standards, principles and techniques
- Experience in performing and managing audits, including conducting risk assessments, setting objectives and scope, information gathering, testing and sampling methods
- Can gather, analyse and interpret information to draw suitable conclusions.
- Strong, clear and succinct communication skills with the ability to influence others, including senior management
- Have the highest standards of ethics and integrity in making judgements and can question others in an objective and constructive manner
