We are looking for a Senior Fixed Income and Alternatives Investment Analyst to join the Fixed Income and Alternatives Team in our Investment Division. The team is responsible for the ongoing monitoring and development of Fixed Income and Alternatives funds within the St. James’s Place investment proposition so that we continue to meet the current and future needs of our clients.
The Senior Analyst will contribute to the design of scalable, robust investment strategies that meet SJP’s long-term objectives and lead and coordinate research projects on investment managers and strategies designed to improve the SJP offering.

What you’ll be doing?
- Assessing and managing the appropriate blend of strategies utilised within SJP’s Fixed Income and Alternatives building block.
- Leading and coordinating research projects on investment managers and strategies designed to improve the SJP offering.
- Contributing to the investment processes that inform the investment decision making of the team and wider division.
- Building in depth knowledge of the external manager opportunity set, improving resilience and building contingency into the SJP Fixed Income and Alternatives platform
- Driving improvement in systems and tools, including analytical capabilities and functional process
- Supporting other parts of the division in crafting an external facing narrative around performance and IMA change for SJP Fixed Income and Alternatives funds
Who are we looking for?
- Strong technical knowledge of Fixed Income and Alternatives markets and an understanding of the fund management industry and financial markets.
- Someone with a strong understanding of all elements of investment manager and strategy research and experience in designing complementary blends and packages of managers.
- Ability to understand, manage and communicate the key risks stemming from investment strategies.
- A deep understanding of the features of a high-quality decision-making process and how to implement it.
- Ability to compare, contrast and combine the full universe of Fixed Income and Alternatives strategies and ability to mentor junior analysts
- Capable of making clear investment recommendations and taking personal responsibility and accountability for the performance of SJP Fixed Income and Alternatives managers on the SJP investment platform
- Preferably attained CFA exams, or equivalent.
