Senior Management Accountant – Future Financial Controller Opportunity

Are you a qualified or part-qualified accountant ready to step into a broader, more strategic finance role? This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven finance professional to join a well-established business, with a clear development path to Financial Controller within 12–18 months.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll take ownership of core financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. You'll also support commercial decision-making, ensure compliance (VAT, PAYE, tax), and provide insights on sales, stock, and cost variances.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing monthly management accounts and financial statements
• Cost controller duties - Leading product costing and manufacturing variance analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Financial reporting
• Cash management
• Managing cash flow, creditor payments, and supporting payroll
• Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP & IFRS
• Acting as a key ERP user and driving process improvements

What We’re Looking For

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified/finalist/PQ
• 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or commercial finance role
• Strong technical and analytical skills with Excel & ERP experience
• A proactive mindset and desire to grow into a senior leadership role
