About the Role
This is a pivotal role within the Finance Team of our fast-growing business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee complex, large-scale management account preparation and take on additional responsibilities, such as lender reporting, systems integration, and automation.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing accounts with high transaction volumes and exposure to diverse business models. You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment, adopting a proactive approach to systems improvement and automation while delivering actionable financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounts
- Prepare and review complex monthly management accounts for the business, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.
- Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and relevant accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and implement best practice accounting policies aligned with IFRS standards.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Lead initiatives to automate financial processes, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, improving efficiency and scalability.
- Work on systems integration projects (e.g., linking accounting platforms with Power BI for real-time reporting and analysis).
- Assist the Financial Controller in budgeting processes, financial projects, and system rollouts.
- Proactively challenge the status quo, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Statutory & Compliance Reporting
- Prepare year-end schedules; act as the key liaison with external auditors to complete the audit.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT and corporation tax returns for all group companies.
About You
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- ACA/ACCA qualified.
- Experience in management accounting with high transaction volume.
- Experience of large complex accounts with different business models.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced modelling capabilities.
- Experience with consolidated accounts and process automation.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero and/or NetSuite desirable.
- Power BI knowledge is highly advantageous.
- Any experience of systems integration and automation, such as accounts payable / receivable beneficial.
