Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager with significant experience in community services to join the Safe and Strong Communities team in a wide-ranging leadership role. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a number of key service areas which actively contribute to the delivery of the Council’s priority of confident, empowered, resilient communities.
As the Senior Manager Communities, the postholder will lead the embedding of the Council’s approach to Community Power, community safety, social enterprise and community resilience. This cross-cutting role will work closely with Elected Members, the Voluntary, Community Faith and Social Enterprise sector, Town and Parish Councils, Council services, and wider partners at both a strategic and local levels. Taking a leadership role in key projects, policy development and service delivery, the successful candidate will have significant experience of partnership working, building and developing networks and leading through change.
Joining the Council at an exciting time, the postholder will be part of the Assistant Director’s Management team and will work closely with service managers within the directorate and across the authority ensuring staff are fully engaged, and will work with the whole organisation encouraging a 'one team' culture.
