JOB TITLE: SENIOR MANAGER – EXPATRIATE & EMPLOYMENT TAX.

This Job is FTC - Maternity Cover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for expatriate and employment tax advice to the Petrofac Group in a number of complex worldwide locations.
  • Working with HR on global mobility assignment cost planning including the provision of detailed tax cost estimates for overseas assignments. Working closely with the business units on income tax and social security costings for bids in existing Petrofac locations and new countries.
  • Managing the UK and global tax return seasons, ensuring 100% compliance with filing requirements.
  • Liaising with payroll functions across the Group
  • Gathering and analysing compensation data
  • Working with service providers to ensure compliance targets are met
  • Following up internally with assignees and providing additional explanation when necessary
  • Managing relationships with service providers and internal stakeholders and participating in requests for proposals.
  • Managing, reviewing and signing off PAYE Settlement Agreements and P11D reports.
  • Managing, reviewing and signing off Short Term Business Visitor (STBV) report in the UK.
  • Monitoring STBV reporting in relevant global tax regimes where Petrofac operates.
  • Reviewing and driving employment tax input to policies and procedures, alongside identifying and implementing employment tax compliance process improvements.
  • Working with UK and overseas payroll functions to address employee tax and social security queries.
  • Working with multiple business heads to ensure transparency of assignment movements and influence decisions to ensure compliance with social security, and home and host country taxes.
  • Identifying expatriate and employment tax risks and working with relevant departments in the UK and in overseas locations to ensure that these are mitigated, and effective controls are maintained.

Essential Qualifications And Skills

  • ATT/CTA/ACA qualified.
  • Demonstrable expatriate tax experience and good awareness of employment tax issues.
  • Robust analytical skills and
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the cultural sensitivity to deal with geographically diverse groups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex matters for presentation to non-tax professionals.
  • Strong sense of professionalism, customer service and delivery against expectations.
  • Good Microsoft office skills.
  • Self-motivating and able to work well individually as well as part of a team, with a willingness to support the broader Group Tax function, HR and Reward.
  • Few years of expatriate tax experience and awareness of employment tax risks and dealings with HMRC.
  • Experience of expatriate tax in an in-house tax team for a large multinational is preferred but advising such businesses in private practice is equally welcome.
  • Knowledge of overseas aspects of employment income, payroll withholding, share options and social security.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team including Payroll, Global Mobility, HR and Reward
