Role & Team:

Are you a data-driven thinker with a passion for market trends and strategic insight? We’re looking for a Senior Market Analyst to join our team at Vanquis. This is a pivotal role where you’ll take ownership of Vehicle Finance market intelligence—tracking changes, identifying emerging trends, analysing competitor strategies, and recommending where and how we adapt. Your insights will shape commercial decisions and help us deliver great outcomes for our customers.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Pricing and Portfolio Management, you'll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team that’s focused on developing and refining our customer proposition. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Product, Innovation, Risk, Finance, and Analytics, becoming a key subject matter expert on market developments. If you have experience in Vehicle Finance, strong analytical skills, and a proactive mindset, this is your chance to make a real impact in a growing and customer-focused business.

As a Senior Market Analyst, you will:

• Own the narrative of changes in the market, presenting insights in to how it will impact Vanquis and recommending an appropriate response.
• Identify and monitor emerging issues and trends using multiple sources of information, communicating effectively with the affected managers.
• Development and ongoing reporting of market KPIs.
• Develop a best practice insights approach by researching competitor policies to identify market gaps and recommend actionable changes.
• Support the assessment of the current VF market by detailed analysis and reporting.
• Give an overview of market updates in trading meetings and collaborate with colleagues across the business as a market SME.
• Support initiatives with insight and analysis from external data sources.
• Attend industry events to identify emerging trends, share insights with the team, and recommend actions to senior leaders.
• Embody a customer first approach to thinking and strategy decisions.
• Seek to drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
• Report on our market share and identify growth opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience within the Vehicle Finance market, with a demonstrated understanding of the VF product and market
• Ability to build successful internal relationships to inform their analysis
• Extensive experience working with data, especially market focussed data.
• Ability to Present, both in writing and verbally, clear, and concise results using aggregated data, highlighting key trends, opportunities/risks and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Attention to detail / accuracy focussed.
• Ability to generate innovative ideas for improvement of existing processes, as well as gauge their viability and value.
• Experienced SQL programmer is beneficial
• Experienced in all standard MS Office applications.
• Good influencing and communication skills.
• Challenges conventional approaches.
