At SRT Marine Systems, we’re at the forefront of international maritime surveillance technology—designing and deploying integrated systems that enhance global maritime safety, security, and environmental protection. Our long-term, large-scale projects help national agencies improve operational effectiveness, and we’re growing fast.
We’re now looking for a highly capable Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer to lead on-the-ground implementations and guide best practices across global deployments.
- Please note – the role requires occasional international travel in support of our projects (sometimes with noticeably short notice)
About The Role
As a Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for transforming low-level network designs into real-world, field-ready implementations. You’ll act as the lead technical expert for configuring, installing, and supporting robust, scalable infrastructure across complex deployments, working closely with engineers, subcontractors, and international project teams.
This role involves regular UK and international travel—often at short notice—to support global implementation projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the deployment of networked servers, storage systems, and core IT infrastructure
- Interpret SRT's low-level designs (LLDs) into site-specific implementation packages
- Create as-built documentation including rack layouts, room plans, power and comms schematics
- Design and configure integration with third-party systems (e.g. CCTV, VOIP, external networks)
- Perform site surveys to assess connectivity, system compatibility, and integration needs
- Install and commission data centre components for MDA systems in the field
- Act as the key point of contact for network-related solutions and technical troubleshooting
- Provide technical leadership and support to in-country teams and partners during deployments
- Collaborate with network design engineers to improve and refine forward-looking solutions
- Manage version-controlled documentation and ensure configuration alignment with deployment
- Support local UK-based deployments and engineering tasks between field assignments
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Extensive hands-on experience in network infrastructure and field deployments
- Deep understanding of networking principles, hardware infrastructure, and systems integration
- Proficiency with network protocols, transport layers, and system commissioning
- Familiarity with COTS systems and the implementation of related tools/products
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and lead field engineers
- Resilience and adaptability to thrive in dynamic environments and diverse global locations
- Proactive mindset with strong troubleshooting and documentation capabilities
