You will work in the Energy Delivery Team managing the integration of large and complex energy projects within the Welsh Government Woodland Estate. Responsible for the interface between the development and construction of high-profile projects and Natural Resources Wales (NRW)’s land stewardship responsibilities. Influence key stakeholders and maintain partnerships internally and externally; enhancing the reputation of the project by responding to and managing risks and issues raised. Collaborate with other Directorates, to ensure that internal governance procedures are followed, embedding Sustainable Management of Natural Resources (SMNR) and Wellbeing outcomes in energy project deliverables.
The role involves desk and site based work on the WGWE in North & Mid Wales. You will work with specialist project suppliers and are expected to matrix manage a small, internal project team. You will have a central role in the energy delivery project management structure and are expected to analyse and interpret a range of complex information, communicating key points to others. The role reports to the Energy Delivery Team Leader, in the Northeast Operations Directorate. This exciting and challenging role will part-resource a new Welsh Government service level agreement.
You will ensure that works are carried out in a safe, environmentally sustainable, and legally compliant manner. You will have good customer care skills, together with negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to develop good working relationships.
This role requires project and contract management expertise spanning a range of technical disciplines including land management, forestry, environmental and engineering. A strong candidate will have relevant training, skills, experience and knowledge in one or more of these technical disciplines and experience of large scale renewable projects is desirable.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within the place base / location above and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
