Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Engineer III based in London to support the deployment of next-generation optical infrastructure across EMEA. This role will focus on writing Method of Procedures (MOPs), generating Engineering Design Packages (EDPs), and coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and equipment providers—particularly Ciena—for the deployment of RLS terminals and route buildouts.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and review MOPs and EDPs for optical transport deployment.

Coordinate deployment activities with vendors, site engineers, and the planning team.

Provide technical support during installation, test and turn-up of Ciena RLS gear across EMEA.

Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues and escalate where needed.

Collaborate with global engineering teams to maintain deployment standards and documentation.

Offer evening and weekend support as required based on deployment schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in optical transport network deployment or operations.

Strong understanding of DWDM systems, specifically Ciena platforms.

Proven experience writing MOPs and technical documentation.

Excellent communication skills and experience working with global teams.

Ability to work flexible hours to support deployment timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting hyperscale optical networks.

Familiarity with engineering tools and deployment processes.

Prior EMEA regional deployment experience is a plus.
