The opportunity

As a Senior Paraplanner you will play in an integral role in the delivery of outstanding client experience as part of our high-value proposition. You will work in close collaboration with Financial Planners to manage clients with significant portfolios.

As a subject matter expert in the Paraplanning Centre of Excellence you will take on highly technical responsibilities and apply your advanced knowledge of specialist products. You will produce high quality suitability letters and reports, propose and implement recommendations in collaboration with Financial Planners, ensuring plans are aligned to client aspirations.

With a client focused mindset, you will embrace opportunities to support client meetings, developing excellent rapport during your face-to-face interactions and, ultimately, enhance client experience through both application of your advanced knowledge and your excellent people skills.

We are seeking a candidate with Paraplanning experience (5+ years) and holds a Diploma in Financial Planning. This opportunity is ideal for an established Paraplanner who is looking to develop their career, can work independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities effectively.

Location

We are flexible on location and therefore, this role could be based in our Cambridge or Bury St Edmunds office. We operate hybrid working enabling home and office working, allowing you to balance your personal responsibilities/interests and connecting with your colleagues.

What you will be doing   

As a Senior Paraplanner you will complete all paraplanning tasks together with responsibility for -


  • Research and analysis: conducting in-depth research and analysis to identify suitable solutions, performing and presenting cashflow modelling scenarios to clients.


  • Technical work: completing all paraplanning technical work and apply advanced knowledge and technical application to clients' individual circumstances.


  • Managing documentation: preparing client files for review meetings and maintaining these compliantly throughout the client advice journey.


  • Compliance and regulation: understanding (at an advanced level) and application of company policies and procedures. Working to the highest integrity and following the principles and rules of the FCA.


  • Supporting the team: sharing expertise and best practice with others, assisting with team training, checking the work of Paraplanners and Associate Paraplanners and deputising for the Paraplanning Manager where required.


  • Development of technical knowledge: dedicating time to meet continuous professional development requirements and maintaining your product and technical knowledge.



About you   

To thrive and be successful in the role you will be/need-

Financial Services experience - Demonstrate advanced application of technical knowledge and skills, showcasing an ability to undertake highly technical, analytical and precise work to a consistently high standard

Methodical and organised – Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload effectively to produce thorough work that meets the needs of our clients and colleagues.

Responsive and adaptable to change – Have an ability to recognise change early, stay proactive, positive and take appropriate action whilst remaining adaptable and adjusting your approach where needed.

Excellent writing skills – Skilled in compiling suitability reports and other documentation, producing clear, accurate and concise written work, tailored to a range of readers from clients to internal stakeholders.

Exemplary communication and relationship building skills – A collaborative approach to working with Financial Planners and other colleagues with drive to invest time in long-term, trusting relationships.

Passion for sharing knowledge – Driven to share your expertise and problem solve with others, share best practice and coach your colleagues to support their development.
