Senior Policy Manager

Location: Falmer, West Sussex (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £70,000

About The Role

  • We are seeking a Senior Policy Manager to provide expert insight into emerging policy and regulatory changes, ensuring the company stays informed and proactive. You will play a key role in shaping strategy, influencing policy decisions, and engaging with stakeholders, including government bodies and regulators.
  • You will be responsible for monitoring legislative developments, providing policy advice to senior leadership, and ensuring that the company’s positions are well-represented in regulatory discussions. Additionally, you will coordinate internal policy groups and contribute to consultation responses that affect the company’s strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and analyse policy and regulatory developments that impact the business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Defra, BEIS, and regulators.
  • Lead responses to consultations, white papers, and regulatory proposals.
  • Provide strategic insights to executives and the board to support informed decision-making.
  • Represent the company at industry events, working groups, and government meetings.
  • Ensure consistency in internal policy decisions and alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal teams with expert policy guidance and regulatory interpretations.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex policy issues clearly.
  • Experience working within utilities or other highly regulated environments.
  • Excellent writing skills, particularly in drafting technical policy documents and reports.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write persuasively for a range of audiences, including regulators and government bodies.
