Job Title: Power BI Developer (6-Month Contract, Hybrid – London)
Location: London (Hybrid working with 2-3 days work from client site)
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)(Fixed term contract/ Contract inside IR35)

About The Project
We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer to join ourclient team. Initially developed semantic models to support business reporting for a user base of 50–60 regular users. Over time, the scope expanded to deliver Power BI reporting solutions across eight distinct products, with monthly usage ranging from 15 to over 1,600 users. Key responsibilities included supporting programme management with resource planning and developing outputs that feed into P&L reporting. These solutions enabled senior management to access real-time cost and profit data within Power BI, improving transparency and facilitating informed decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise Power BI semantic models and reports, aligned to business goals.
- Build scalable reporting solutions using DAX, M (Power Query), and advanced modelling techniques.
- Design end-to-end data solutions, from data ingestion to front-end delivery.
- Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, SharePoint flat files, and Snowflake.
- Enhance data performance, model efficiency, and dashboard interactivity to support users across all levels of the organisation.
- Support testing, change management, and unit testing within workspace teams.
- Provide resource planning and programme support where needed.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting formats, and user experience wireframes.
Key Skills And Requirements
- Power BI expertise: Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Tabular Editor, and DAX Studio.
- Advanced Data Modelling: Strong in DAX, M, and semantic model design.
- SQL proficiency: Capable of writing efficient and optimised queries.
- Proven experience in building distributed, high-usage Power BI environments (handling datasets up to 5 GB).
- Solid grasp of Power BI’s calculation engine and performance optimisation.
- Experience integrating data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.
- Familiarity with wireframing and UX best practices for dashboard/report layouts.
- Strong focus on quality assurance, unit testing, and maintaining report integrity.
