Overview Of Role
Are you motivated to support the aviation sector to become more efficient and effective in delivering their services while reducing their impact on the environment? The role will be in the Decarbonisation Team which sits in the wider Climate Change and Sustainability Business for our Europe Region. As a Decarbonisation Principal, you will play a key role in managing large scale decarbonisation programmes for asset owners in the aviation sector and growing our decarbonisation services. You will also be responsible for collaborating with our Resilience and Sustainability Teams to provide holistic, end-to-end solutions to our clients.
As Decarbonisation Principal, you will provide technical oversight and quality control of our decarbonisation services at an asset and portfolio level. This will include leading the development and direction of complex decarbonisation strategies and their implementation, low carbon design integration, quantitative and qualitative climate assessments, business case integration and due diligence.
Our clients are facing significant challenges from climate change, population growth and need to change business practices quickly whilst managing sustainable growth expectations. In the aviation sector there is significant pressure to decarbonise ground operations, as well as in the air. We are supporting our clients define and deliver their decarbonisation efforts to achieve their Net Zero Targets and commitments.
We are looking for motivated professionals, with significant experience in asset management, capital delivery or change management experience preferably in the aviation sector, to join our team based in the UK. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a passion for building a career in solving complex challenges. You will have industry experience with a drive to embrace additional areas of learning in climate change, systems thinking, nature or circular economy, to ensure that we offer comprehensive and technically excellent advisory services to our clients.
Candidate specification
Essential Skills And Experience
- Degree qualified in an environmental or other relevant subject.
- Extensive knowledge of efforts (initiatives / project / commitments) in the industry to reduce the carbon impact of transportation, construction and the built environment.
- Industry experience in asset management, ideally in transport, infrastructure or consultancy
- Applied knowledge of PAS 2080 and its implementation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills. This would include the ability to review complex documents, summarise and present the key issues in a clear and concise way.
- Project management, client liaison and consulting skills.
Desired Skills And Experience
- Chartership with a relevant environmental or asset management professional institution.
- Commercial awareness and project proposal preparation.
- Organisational change management.
- Industry experience and/or willingness to actively embrace on and off the job training in additional areas such as decarbonisation, climate resilience, systems thinking, nature-based solutions and/or circular economy.
- A broader awareness of other environmental and social disciplines.
