The Ideal Candidate Should Have
- As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight for engineering projects.
- Experience of some of the following structures - bridges, tunnels, stations & buildings and design using various materials, eg - concrete, steel, timber, masonry
- This is for the Civils/ Geotechnical team
- You will guide project teams, liaise with clients, and ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects on time and budget.
- 8+ years of experience in relevant discipline with a successful track record of leading and delivering high-profile projects.
- This role involves building strong client relationships, as well as driving business development and innovation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Lead design and analysis for major infrastructure projects.
- Development of conceptual designs and producing engineering designs, drawings and reports in accordance with project requirements and ensure technical compliance.
- Provide technical oversight and approval for complex solutions.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure project compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage project teams, ensuring deliverables are on time and within budget
- Build strong client relationships and secure new business opportunities.
- Guide and mentor senior engineers, providing technical and managerial support.
- Oversee the financial management and profitability of projects
- Represent the company in industry events and technical publications.
- Attend meetings representing the team as well as representing the company in industry events and technical publications.
Contribute to business development and secure new projects through client engagement and proposal writing.
The successful candidate will be working from our York Office and work closely with discipline heads based in the other MHB offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and York.
