Job Description
π Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! π The Process engineer will support the design of complex thermal and fluid systems for the Rolls Royce SMR project. This exciting new build project is embracing innovation to deliver a commercially . The role will provide analysis and calculation support across Turbine Island systems and will contribute to an internal centre of excellence for analysis and calculation methodology. Along with the cross-cutting lead you will generate static and transient flow and thermal analyses using various software tools and methods to demonstrate the system performance.β―
Key Responsibilities:
- π‘Intelligent Customer: Ensure supplier deliverables meet requirements, challenging designs where necessary.
- ποΈπDesign Development: Create and review Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Layout Drawings, Component Sizing Calculations, and Specifications.
- π§ πOptioneering & Decision Making: Conduct and review studies and design documents.
- πSystems Engineering: Develop and review functional and design requirements.
- πIntegration: Seamlessly integrate Turbine Island design into the broader power plant.
- π οΈTechnical Support: Serve as the go-to expert for Turbine Island interface and stakeholder activities.
- π‘οΈSafety & Compliance: Support Design Reviews, HAZID/HAZOP studies, and ensure adherence to H&S Policies.
- πLiaison: Work with safety teams on nuclear safety licensing and environmental permitting.

Qualifications
π Qualifications:
- πExperience: Background in the nuclear sector or regulated industries like thermal power generation, oil and gas.
- πTechnical Expertise: Knowledge of steam turbines, condensers, feedwater heaters, pumps, and piping systems.
- π οΈProject Delivery: Experience from FEED to detailed design and EPC delivery.
- πProcurement & Supplier Liaison: Skilled in developing procurement specs and working with suppliers.
- π£οΈCommunication: Excellent skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- βοΈSafety Knowledge: Familiarity with UK Health and Safety regulations, safety systems, and HAZOP.
- πCodes & Standards: Understanding of ASME, European, and UK standards.
- πSystems Engineering: Experience or awareness desirable.
