Senior Procurement Manager – Strategic Procurement (Private Sector Focus)

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid, 2 days in the office)


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially focused procurement professional to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on, strategic role focused on driving procurement transformation, delivering EBITDA improvement, and strengthening relationships across key business areas, including HR, Legal and Services


We are looking for someone with strong private sector procurement experience, who can lead high-value sourcing initiatives, optimize supplier relationships, and champion procurement best practices across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Leadership – Own the development and execution of category strategies for key areas of the business, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Strategic Sourcing & Cost Savings – Lead sourcing activities, contract negotiations, and supplier selection to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize value.

Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor on procurement strategy.

Supplier & Risk Management – Implement effective contract management, supplier due diligence, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure operational excellence.

Procurement Transformation – Drive process automation, data-led decision-making, and best-in-class procurement practices.

Market Intelligence & Innovation – Leverage industry insights and best practices to optimize procurement approaches and drive continuous improvement.


Key Requirements:

🔹 Proven private/commercial sector procurement experience – ideally within HR, Legal or Professional Services categories.

🔹 Strategic mindset with the ability to drive procurement transformation and cost efficiencies.

🔹 Strong commercial acumen – understanding of financial models, risk assessment, and contract structures.

🔹 Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

🔹 Experience leading complex, high-value sourcing projects with a focus on cost, quality, and efficiency.

🔹 CIPS qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
