As the Senior Procurement Manager in R&D, Preclinical and New Product Development– NCE & Vx team you will be responsible leading strategic category management of Vaccine R&D categories, specifically new product development and clinical manufacturing activities. , In partnership with stakeholders, you will ensure that all value delivered from the category strategy is in line with GSK and Procurement goals. You will negotiate contracts with suppliers that secure favorable terms for procurement of services in line with the agreed business requirements. You will work on the implementation of category strategies, identification of appropriate buying channels and business partnering to ensure the categories are delivering the business needs. Responsibilities also include Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) of key suppliers to ensure delivery of GSK’s performance, quality and financial requirements.

In this role you will be


  • Be responsible strategic category management activities
  • Be responsible for contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance. Negotiate with suppliers and work with legal in bringing a contract from draft form to completion.
  • Work across multiple countries, build strategic relationships with a network of GSK global stakeholders
  • Manage / monitor ongoing negotiations with service providers
  • Champion the procurement process and policies across functions and link these to GSK's strategic direction
  • Utilize complex business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Implement and support procurement strategies to maximize supplier leverage
  • Bring external supplier knowledge to stakeholders to help progress GSK pipeline assets


Basic Qualifications & Skills:


  • University Degree - Procurement, Business, Finance or relevant scientific discipline
  • English and French proficiency (written and oral)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in R&D procurement or outsourcing roles
  • At least 3 years’ experience in contract negotiations.
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing procurement category strategy across multiple geographies
  • Stakeholder management experience at a senior level (as far as SVP)
  • Supplier relationship management experience


Preferred Qualifications & Skills:


  • Experience in management of niche suppliers delivering essential expertise
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks across multiple projects using project management skills
  • Proven ability to provide procurement management in complex organizations using technical expertise and analytical skills
  • Experience in working in a science led organization and an understanding of CMC services
