The Role
As a UX Researcher, you'll be working on problems from their definition stage, using the appropriate qualitative or quantitative research and discovery methods, through to evaluation of interfaces and interactions for digital products and services, on a global scale. The role is an amazing opportunity to learn and grow your UX research craft through strategic and hands-on work. Day to Day Responsibilities
- You will be involved in research through the Product lifecycle, working horizontally with different product teams
- Champion User Centred Design and the use of customer insights from both qualitative and quantitative research to put the customer at the centre of the product design process
- Guide product teams on using our customer attitudes and personas in their work
- Collaborate with Product teams to clearly define research objectives and involve the full team in the research process
- Plan and complete high-quality qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring recruitment of customers and panels is carried out to meet defined criteria, the appropriate methodology is used, and timelines are defined and kept to
- Analysis of qual and quant data into practical insights for the various teams – making sure to join the dots – where different teams need to see information pertinent to them
- Define research studies with consideration of the business goals, customer needs, and technical feasibility, as potential constraints for the scope of research impact
- Facilitate workshops to explain the outputs and insights from the research and their impact so action is taken
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with designers, product managers and data teams
What We’re Looking For
- University degree of 2:1 or higher in human-computer interaction (HCI), a related field, or equivalent years of professional experience
- Expert-level knowledge in the field of UX research with at least 2+ years’ experience of working as a UX researcher on digital products
- Using software tools for remote user testing e.g. UserTesting.com, Optimal Workshop, Morae, Tobii, In Vision. Experience in Usability / UX lab- based testing is desirable
- Considerable knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques (such as usability testing, ethnography, contextual enquiry, creation of user profiles personas, journey mapping, surveys, competitor analysis)
- Strong track record of research results impacting product strategy and development
- Experience of working in an agile product development environment and applying lean UX research methods
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organisation
- Ability to collaborate with a wide set of stakeholders including designers, product managers, developers, and analysts
